Do you know a cricket legend who has their eye on the ball and makes cricket great in the South West?
Specsavers, the offficial eyewear and eye care partner of Cricket Australia, are asking Eaton locals to nominate their community cricket champion in celebration of the great work of local cricket clubs across Australia.
Eaton cricket fans are asked to explain in 50 words or less why their local cricket volunteer deserves to be recognised for their hard work, support of the local cricket team and dedication to the sport.
Specsavers will announce five state winners on January 2, 2018, with an overall national winner being crowned Specsavers Australian community cricket champion on February 5, 2018.
State finalists will receive 13 tickets to a Gillette One Day International match for themselves and their local cricket club, along with a free Specsavers eye test and eyewear.
The national winner will receive a visit from Mr Healy for a skills day at their local club along with a Cricket Australia memorabilia pack.
Specsavers cricket ambassador Ian Healy said he is excited to see the incredible people behind Aussie cricket being recognised through the competition.
“Each and every player on the Australian Cricket Team started out playing community cricket, and it’s at the thousands of local cricket clubs around Australia where that love of the game began,” he said.
“We’re excited to be working with Specsavers to keep our eyes peeled for the best in community cricket and acknowledge our well deserving community cricket champions.”
