The members of five-piece ensemble The Hunting Birds are taking life one glorious gig at a time.
The band will unleash its style of folk-rock for one show at Bunbury’s Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday, December 14.
The group’s latest tour hits Bunbury, Margaret River, Albany and the Swan Valley in succession.
For vocalist and guitarist Connor Minervini, touring provides a look into music scenes around the state.
He said touring gave the five group members the chance to bond and hone their skills.
“You grow as a band, being together, and it’s also about being in new places and meeting new people,” he said.
“It always comes together when you’re touring.”
The Hunting Birds used the past 12 months effectively.
Its debut EP came together at Debaser Studios, with help from WA music icons Andy Lawson and Joel Quartermain.
The group followed up the EP’s release, along with the success of single Burn This House Down, by supporting powerhouse groups Hanson and The Lumineers.
Things are looking up, with The Hunting Birds preparing for a 2018 filled with shows.
Minervini said the band was a warm and welcoming part of each member’s lives.
“We do it because, as cliched as it sounds, we do love doing it,” he said.
“For us, ultimately, we would love to play in different places and to bigger crowds for, at least, the foreseeable future.”
