It was a morning of thanks when the Bunbury Country Women’s Association recently came together to present funds to three worthy causes.
Bunbury CWA president Chooi Gangatharan said the group had held a Christmas Fete and decided whatever was raised would be donated to deserving causes, choosing three groups to support and give $500 to.
After losing two horses this year, South West RDA president Bridget Green was moved to tears.
“This is received very gratefully because like every year it’s getting tougher but we have decided we are going to give it our best shot in 2018,” she said.
Wayne and Theresa Bowlden accepted the donation for their 15-year-old son Dylan who has Cerebral Palsy and said it would go towards a new speech device.
“He’s had a tough trot and this will really help – the support of everyone is just amazing,” Mrs Bowlden said.
Bunbury Soup Van vice president Penny Farnell said every little bit helped, with the group enjoying getting out and helping people.
