The 'Subtle Art of Not Giving A F***' is 9 News Perth newsreader Tim McMillan's holiday reading book of choice after a leaked email confirmed he and co-anchor Emmy Kubainski will not be returning to the news desk.
7 West Media reports the email was issued on Friday to confirm the pair had not been re-signed for 2018.
The email said "this is difficult news to pass on, but I want to let you know that Nine Perth is making changes to the News team as part of a broader change of direction for our bulletin in 2018.
"I'd like to thank both Tim and Emmy on behalf of the Newsroom for the contribution to Nine and wish them well for the future."
In the email, Ms Kubainski said "I will certainly miss working with the incredible team at Channel Nine in Perth," having returned to Perth from her hometown of Brisbane in 2015 to take up the role.
Mr McMillan has been presenting the news on Nine since 2013, regularly appearing on 882 6PR and in promotional ads for Nine's news coverage, which directly competes with 7 News presented by long-time ratings winners Rick Ardon and Susannah Carr.
On Friday McMillan shared his "holiday read" on Instagram - a tome by Mark Manson all about letting go and rising above the slings and arrows of life.
Weekend presenter Michael Genovese presented the bulletin on Friday, and it's reported that Nine Perth will announce its 2018 roster "in due course".
