The Bunbury Trotting Club New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular will once again provide the community with a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset on the last day of 2017.
Bunbury Trotting Club events coordinator Kate Ryan-Taylor said the event would provide fun family entertainment.
“It provides exposure to the industry, I suppose some people would not have ever seen harness racing and so people can come for the fireworks but will also get to see exactly what goes on,” she said.
Ms Ryan-Taylor said the industry benefited from the number of people flocking to the Carey Park establishment every New Year’s Eve.
“It is pretty important, I think if we can expose it more, people might start becoming more interested in it and could make it even bigger than it is today,” she said.
The events coordinator called upon everyone in town to come down and enjoy themselves.
“It is family friendly, a safe environment, affordable and it gets you out of the house,” she said.
Reinsmen will go head-to-head in the $3500 Divided Stakes MS Pace (2100m), $3500 Trotters Mobile and $6000 MS Pace.
Duo band Shale, Scott Gordan and Zoe Dellaca will provide music during the races.
The races and live acts will lead up to the fireworks display around 11pm.
Gates will open at 5pm ahead of the first race at 6.15pm.
