South West businesses recently banded together to help make the wish of a boy come true.
Busselton’s Ethan Lauro finished 2017 on a literal high note when he was recently gifted a helicopter ride.
It was a sky-high moment for the 13-year-old, who overcame brain cancer at an early age, and always dreamed of being in a chopper.
The ride in the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was made possible by Hanson Concrete, Surf Life Saving WA, Helistar and Westpac.
The idea to giveaway a ride was sparked after Hanson Concrete donated materials for the helipad. The company was offered a flight for their efforts and decided to use it to benefit the Lauro family.
Ethan was joined by his parents Cassandra and Alan.
Ms Lauro said Ethan was chuffed by the community generosity.
“We want to thank all involved for giving us an experience that exceeded our expectations, creating a lifetime memory,” she said.
“Ethan got to sit in the front, everything looked so small – it was pretty amazing and we feel very fortunate.”
