For indie-rock-roots maestro Dan Howls, Bunbury provides a golden opportunity to meet and play to a new audience.
The musician is delivering his blend of thumping beats and electric guitar flourishes to the Prince of Wales on Thursday, January 25, bringing his five-piece band along for the ride.
“I’m really excited, it’s the first time we’ve had the entire band there and it’ll be part of a down south tour,” he said.
“We will play our music with the full band to new crowds down there and hope to build some fans.”
Last year made for the ride of Howls’ life, with the artist picking up WAM Blues Song of the Year for single The Prince in April.
He then played 21 shows in Europe before hitting festivals in Australia and unleashing his debut album, A Dime a Dozen, on vinyl.
The band will officially release the album in May.
Meanwhile, Mesa Cosa is heading to the Prince of Wales Hotel on January 24 for a night of inventive punk, rock and Mexican tunes.
Described as a ‘freak-out, rock’n’roll, ya-ya gang from everywhere between Mexico City and Melbourne’, the group will deliver its unique style for one show in Bunbury tonight and introduce crowds to their new album El Es Demons.
The ensemble mixes its love of occult celebrations, dark symbols and garage music.
