A Bunbury resident is preparing to complete an endurance test to assist one of the region’s learning facilities.

Joel Green has planned to paddle roughly 60 kilometres from Bunkers Bay at 12am on Saturday, February 3 to Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club.

His team has set up a GoFundMe page, with all funds going to Bunbury special needs school College Row.

The page has already raised over $740 of the $1000 goal.

Joel’s sister, Heidi, said her brother was inspired to take on the challenge by his nephew Finn.

“Joel is a natural athlete, he is always out in his kayak,” she said.

“He has always wanted to do it and he thought he would line up a charity to do it for.

“Every second year, someone in my family does something for one of my children who has autism.”

The Greens recently attended a walkthrough of College Row, led by P and C representatives.
