MOUNT Beauty’s Britt Cox has finished fifth in the women’s moguls final at the Winter Olympics in South Korea.
The result matches her performance at the previous Games in Russia.
Cox, 23, had qualified second highest for the final which featured the six best competitors.
French teenager Perrine Lafont won the gold medal, while Australian Jakara Anthony was fourth.
Cox said she went all-out in the final with her tricks and paid a price with the judges.
“I went for it and pushed it a little too hard in the super final there and was scrappy,” she told Channel Seven afterwards.
“The girls that are on the podium and Jakara’s performance, they’re very well deserving of their results.
“I’m really proud of Jakara and of my entire team, I’m just happy to be here and doing what I love.”
Cox thanked her supporters at home, saying she had felt all the wellwishes.
“I’ve seen all the messages and the support,” she said.
“It’s just been amazing and I just love that everyone’s starting to get excited about mogul skiing.”
