A gravel carpark will soon be installed at Gnomesville by the Shire of Dardanup whilst concept plans for further improvements are in development.
Shire of Dardanup chief executive Mark Chester said strong feedback had been received from the community about its expecations for the future of the Gnomesville through a previous consultation process.
“In response to that feedback we are working towards a future plan that balances local wishes while capitalising on the potential provided by the site as a nationally-recognised tourist location,” he said.
It is expected a final plan to guide future works will be completed and adopted by October, 2018.
Shire staff has conducted a survey of the site and are now developing the concept plan for improvements at Gnomesville, which will include a car park area, installation of a fence and determining the limits of the site and improving walkways.
There are also plans to create a location for a pop-up visitor centre, signage, picnice settings and potentially public toilets.
