Dalyellup Primary School and Dardanup Primary School are set to benefit from state government funding to help improve playground and shade equipment.
Dalyellup Primary School principal Gary Quinn said it was very pleasing.
“It’s certainly something we’ve been speaking about over the years is increasing the amount of shade that kids have available for play,” he said.
“We’re going to be using the money to put in a hard shade structure over our central play area, we currently have hard shelters over a number of our play areas and this will finish it off so they will all have covers.
“Having areas that are shaded reinforces the sun safe message.”
Bunbury MLA Don Punch said engaging playgrounds were important to get kids out and being active.
