One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Harvey on Sunday, December 9.
According to South West police, the 19-year-old male driver and a female passenger were travelling south in a Ford Falcon along South Western Highway, 800 metres from Honeymoon Road, around 5.20pm.
The vehicle drove into gravel before veering onto the road, skidding across an embankment, and hitting a tree
The car then came to rest on its roof.
Police, St John Ambulance personnel, and fire crews attended the scene and assisted the pair.
The male died in hospital as result of his injuries.
Suffering cuts and bruises, the female passenger was taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital for further treatment.
Harvey Officer in Charge Sergeant Scott Gillis urged people across the Greater Bunbury region to drive safely.
“The male was a Harvey local, so he was almost home,” he said.
“It’s a reminder for people to pay attention and be aware of what’s happening around them.
“Coming up to the Christmas period, people will definitely be seeing more police on the road.
“People need to plan ahead and know where they are going.”
Major crash investigators will continue their investigations into the incident.
