The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to fill the role of Director Clinical Services, Mental Health in Western Australia. Responsibilities associated with this position include clinical governance and leadership in relation to clinical service delivery, providing line management to medical staff and working with budget holders to ensure appropriate staffing across sites and services. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be working collaboratively with the mental health management team to ensure ongoing strategic development and evaluation of mental health services.

Essential Requirements

  • Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or recognised equivalent specialist qualifications

The Hospital

This position is associated with a progressive and well-respected regional hospital based within a very large regional health service in Western Australia. The hospital has approximately 103 inpatient beds, consisting of 6 wards - surgical, an acute psychiatric unit, medical, maternity, paediatrics and a high dependency unit. This hospital is a major medical centre for the region offering 24 hours emergency care, a wide range of support services/programs for inpatients and outpatients, and allied health services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dieticians, incontinence and diabetes educators, speech therapy, and social workers.
