CYCLING: South West cyclists will be converging in Dardanup on September 8 to compete for the coverted Golden Gnome in the Livelighter Dardanup Tour.
South West Cycling Club representative Daniel Lloyd-Smith will be up amongst the favourites after his recent stint racing in Ghent in Belgium with other members of the Hall Cycling team.
Over a four week block Lloyd-Smith took part in roughly 16 races gaining valuable experience and race fitness.
The Livelighter Tour of Dardanup will provide Lloyd-Smith a chance to get closer to his goal of reaching the Australian Road Titles in January.
If successful Lloyd-Smith will be able to compete alongside friend and training partner Bradley Linfield who is currently representing Australia in France.
The Livelighter Dardanup Tour offers something for all levels of cyclist with categories ranging from the 24km, a team ride over 39km or the option of a 39km individual road race followed by a 39km team time trial.
Supported by Healthway and the Shire of Dardanup the event will be a showcase of cycling and one lucky participant will go home with a new $1,500 road bike from Fitzroy Cycles.
