In an effort to keep out roads fatality- free prior to Easter the RoadWise committee of Collie was busy spreading the road safety message.
Committee member Geoff Wilks was handing out safety flyers and advice as well as ‘slow down’ stickers to place on household wheelie bins.
Mr Wilks said as well as spreading the safety message to drivers, they were also focusing on educating children on safe driving practices so they will be able to tell their parents if they are not being safe on the roads.
“The kids will know it’s important to drive safe and will hopefully remind their parents of this.”
Mr Wilks also reminded drivers of the importance of having proper child restraints for children and infants.
Police commissioner Karl O’Callaghan visited Collie on Thursday morning as a part of a South-West roads safety tour in the lead up to the Easter break.
Mr Wilks said it was nice to see Karl O’Callaghan out and about keeping his eye on things on the roads.
