A 24-year-old man will face Bunbury Magistrates Court on Thursday after he was arrested with the help of the canine unit on Wednesday.
Officers from the South West District were conducting inquiries into a number of matters when they attended a residence to see if they could locate a person of interest to an investigation.
While the person they were looking for was not there, they noticed a man run through the back garden and jump the rear fence.
Unfortunately for that man, a canine unit was positioned on a street at the rear of the residence and when he failed to comply with demands to stop, Police Dog Geoffrey was deployed.
PD Geoffrey chased the man down and took him into custody by taking hold of his left leg.
The man’s identity was established and it will be alleged the man, who is known to one of the occupants of the address, was in breach of court imposed bail conditions.
He was charged with breach of protective bail conditions and failure to comply with reporting obligations. Bail was refused.
