Dalyellup College’s year nine dance class have celebrated a win in their first year of the WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod.
Competing at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Thursday night, the group were praised by the judges for beginning with a big acrobatic element which was well handled.
The adjudicator also noted the group had high energy from all the performers and presented a number of talented tricks.
Dance teacher Jenaya Bell said she was thrilled for her students to win in their first attempt at a competition.
“The students performed a creative piece called Sahara which tied elements of the year nine curriculum to animalistic movements,” she said. “The 20 students in the group worked really hard to get into character and to understand the motivation of the piece.”
We owe our parent helpers and staff thanks for their help with costume for the performance."
