A new collection of video interviews hopes to shed some light on the good people of Bunbury and their many fascinating stories.
Two Skinny Lattes is the brainchild of long-time friends Cliff Reeve and Dean Lomax.
Every few days they have been adding short videos to Youtube that show the pair visiting cafes in and around Bunbury to interview local icons about their love of the South West.
Mr Reeve said the pair had the idea for the new series while enjoying one of their regular coffee catch-ups.
“We’ve been talking about this for some time because everyone has got a story to tell,” he said.
“We thought it might have some legs but it has gone off and running.
“It’s a really great way of shining another light on the South West.”
So far Mr Reeve has interviewed local identities including City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan, Denning Boxing and Fitness owner Peter Stokes and GWN 7 news weather presenter Shauna Willis.
Mr Brennan spoke passionately about Bunbury’s diverse economy and his belief that Bunbury will be the most progressive regional city in Western Australia by 2026 while Mr Stokes gave an insight into the students he trains including Olympian Lauren Reynolds and champion fighter Nathaniel ‘Cheeky’ May.
The group also have six more interviews completed ready to release soon.
Mr Lomax shoots and edits the videos along with media student Maddy Brunning and said the results so far have been really pleasing.
“It’s great to have people on screen talking about the things they do and the things they like,” he said.
“We’ve also had plenty of people recommending others for future videos.”
Mr Lomax said the videos were also a good chance to promote Bunbury’s growing cafe scene.
The group have been thrilled with the feedback they have received so far with one viewer complimenting Two Skinny Lattes on showing a human side to public figures.
