Three Manea Senior College students competed in the Western Australian Mountain Biking School Championships.
Year 12 student Bryce Lanigan and year 11 students Kian Merritt and Gary Matten travelled to Perth for the competition with Manea mountain biking coordinator Ian Green.
The race was held on on August 5 at the Goat Farm Mountain Bike Park where competitors completed four laps of the five kilometre track. In the year 11 and 12 race Bryce Lanigan took away first place, completing five laps in 57 minutes. Kian Merritt came fifth, completing five laps in one hour and 11 minutes and Gary Matten took away eighth place, completing four laps in just under 59 minutes. The Manea team nabbed first in the team event and fifth overall in the school competition.
