Almost a decade on and the Choose Respect message at Carey Park Primary School is going strong.
This unwavering commitment to the initiative earned the school the praise of Bunbury MLA and Bunbury Respect Patron John Castrilli this week.
Mr Castrilli said the entire school community deserved to be highlighted for leading the way for what has become a whole-of-community initiative.
“Choose Respect is a visible message throughout our community now thanks to the vision and hard work of Carey Park Primary School principal Peter Rigden and the staff,” he said.
Mr Rigden said his latest statistics show there had been a 50 per cent reduction in poor behavioural incidents reported to administration.
“I can say, without a doubt, that Choose Respect is making a difference in our school with a significant reduction in poor behavioural incidents,” he said.
