The Aussie slacker rock band The Hard Aches are only 10 dates away from their Prince of Wales appearance on October 27.
The two piece band consisting of may be referred to as slackers but it’s a title that guitarist and vocalist Ben David said he embraces for all it’s worth.
The duo consisting of Ben and drummer/vocalist Alex Upton, are anything but slack though, only midway through their 22 date tour whether on stage, in the bus or the studio they’re all ways thinking of their music.
“I embrace the title because it’s that style of doll-wave working class music we play that has earned us the title of slackers,” he said.
“And I’m quite proud of it.
“We are a performing band, we’re out to play live, we’re very comfortable in a studio too but on stage we can turn it up, but they are vastly different experiences.”
Ben said they favour live performances because of the freedom being a two piece band gives them.
“We don’t even go up with a set list, it’s just us picking songs and playing them when we want, it adds an organic flow to the shows,” he said.
The Hard Aches will be in Bunbury at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday October 27.
