It was perfect conditions for the 39th annual Bunbury Surf to Surf Fun Run today and hundreds of runners turned up to take advantage of the beautiful weather.
Starting from the Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club, the courses were scenic to say the least, taking in Back Beach, Ocean Drive, Wyalup and the lighthouse.
There was a race for everyone, from a gentle walk to a half-marathon. Teams from companies and organisations competed in the South32 Corporate and Club Challenge 5-km run while schools fielded teams for the Fast 5 Schools Challenge 5 km. The Schools Handicap Shield was determined by the highest number of entrants on primary and secondary school teams. The 5-km walk was sponsored by Koombana Physiotherapy, and we expect business will be brisk in the coming days.
And then there were the runs: 5 km, 10 km, and a half-marathon at 21.1 km.
Congratulations to all runners – did we manage to get a pic of you?
