Bunbury Tennis Club 2016 season underway

The new Bunbury Tennis Club season is underway with 40 players heading down to try their luck in blustery conditions.

A number of players were absent due to the tennis seniors state championships in Perth but those who did make it down pushed through the trying conditions well.

A highlight of the afternoon was a special sponsorship cheque presentation by ANZ bank to the tune of $12,750 which will be used to improve the club facilities.

There is a lot happening at the club in coming weeks with a fluro day starting at 1pm on Sunday with players expected to dress in their brightest outfits to raise money for Motor Neuron Disease

The following weekend Tennis West hosts the D’Arcy Slater Cup over four days for juniors commencing Sunday, October 30.

Bunbury Tennis Club juniors started their season last Friday evening with more than 35 students attending.

Classes ran between 4pm and 6pm with a sausage sizzle after the games.

The parents were able to enjoy a casual hit themselves while waiting for their children.
