A group of eight Bunbury male dancers, called Koolangkas Kreate, have spent the last month travelling around Western Australia for Indigenous cultural dancing performances.
The group is made up of students from Djidi Djidi and Maidens Park Primary Schools, Newton Moore Senior High School and Eaton Community College, and performs with the help of didgeridoo player Chris Narkle.
The boys visited Fremantle to perform at the Wardanji Festival, an event that starts the Fremantle Arts Festival and was opened by Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt.
The event featured a crowd of more than 2,000 people with a number of market stalls selling traditional Indigenous food.
The festival ended with an all in corroborree, where the audience joined in and showed off their dance moves.
The group also performed recently in Dunsborough, Northam and Margaret River with plans to head overseas next year to represent Bunbury.
