A burglar who broke into homes overnight on Wiroo Loop in the suburb of Dalyellup, believed to have been carrying a knife, has been arrested by police.
Police report the offender, in his twenties, broke into two homes in the wee hours of Tuesday where he stole personal belongings.
The offender's first victim, a mother-of-two who chose to remain anonymous, was asleep when she heard noises and went to investigate at about 12.30am.
She reports standing in her living room for about a minute when the intruder jumped out from behind their pool table to scare her.
"It wasn't in a threatening manner, it was more like he wanted to frighten me so he could exit and he left through the backdoor," she said.
She reports ringing triple-zero at about 12.40am.
The woman said her handbag is still missing and other personal belongings, including her children's Enid Blyton CDs, were stolen and were later found scattered on the street.
"Maybe he was nicking stuff for Christmas," she said.
"We were pretty shocked at the time but now he's been arrested we're much at ease and feeling very lucky that no one was hurt."
Police report the offender broke into another home on the street at about 2am where an occupant of the house was able to restrain the offender until police arrived.
The offender is currently in police custody and charges have yet to be laid.
