The Bunbury Plaza shopping complex was reopened to the public on Wednesday after 18 months of major upgrades.
Included in the upgrade to the shopping centre was a car park expansion, a revamping of the Woolworths and brand new store fronts for existing tenants.
A number of new businesses have also taken up residency in the centre.
City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said the Markotis family, who own the Plaza, have shown great vision throughout the redevelopment.
“I applaud the confidence of the owners and I greatly appreciate the efforts of City staff who worked cooperatively with Perkins builders. They used a can-do approach to some challenging issues,” he said.
“Local community members I spoke to were very impressed with the new Woolworths store which was described as the state’s best.
“I will continue to encourage property owners in the Highway precinct to consider upgrading their properties advising our City officers are available to assist.”
Bunbury Plaza is located at 2 Forrest Avenue, South Bunbury.
