Bunbury’s Intown Lunch Centre and the New Lyric Theatre are both set to benefit from a round of donation from the Carey Park IGA.
When the public purchase a product with the IGA Community Chest logo printed on the label, a percentage is automatically credited to that store’s account, for eventually donation to charities and not-for-profit groups.
Carey Park IGA owner Sue Henderson said it was great for her business to be able to reinvest some of their profits in local organisations.
Bunbury Musical Comedy Group member Maureen Eaton said their groups share of the fund would go towards restoration work on the New Lyric Theatre in Bunbury.
Bunbury Intown Centre general manager Leanne Gibbs said the grant was most welcome at a time of the year when the centre is always busy.
“This money will help us to focus on helping those who come into crisis around Christmas time and into January, preparing to support children in need heading back to school by providing them with new equipment,” she said.
