Liberal party candidate for Dawesville Zak Kirkup will host a forum on Monday, February 20, to open discussion with the local community about education issues in the area.
State education minister Peter Collier will also be in attendance to answer questions.
“I don’t want to pre-empt what people want. If there’s anything to do with education they want to discuss, I’ll leave it to the public to bring those issues forward,” Mr Kirkup said.
“I’d like to hear what the community has to say.”
He said some people from the suburb of Dawesville had raised concerns about the quality of public education, especially in high school, available to students from the area.
“People want to feel like they can send their kids to a good quality high school, so we’ve decided to let people directly have their say to the minister,” he said.
The forum will run from 4-5pm at the South Mandurah Football Club on Lynda Street.
