Construction on the new Aldi supermarket in Bunbury started on Thursday when heavy machinery began lifting the walls into place.
The 10,373sqm site at 9 Edward Street will accommodate Aldi’s first store in Bunbury. It will also be the second Aldi in the South West with the Australind store opening its doors in June last year.
Traffic controllers were in the area urging drivers to heed the signs and lower their speed after two close calls with distracted drivers on Thursday morning.
