The South West community is banding together to help out a family and their sick boy.
Little Bentley Hatton has not had an easy three years, being diagnosed with a rare disorder at birth. Bentley has tuberous sclerosis, a condition which causes tumors to grow on his brain, heart and kidneys.
As a result he suffers from seizures.
He now needs brain surgery at Melbourne Royal Children’s hospital to help reduce his seizures. Bentley’s mother, Analeise Hatton said the last few months have been extremely stressful.
“We are flying out a week before Bentley’s surgery and we will be over there for a minimum of four weeks after his surgery,” Mrs Hatton said.
Family friend, Nikitta Taylor is organizing a fundraiser to help the family with the costs of the surgery and flights. Putting a call out for help on several Facebook, Ms Taylor was soon able to organise a fundraising event on June 18 at the Bunbury Commercial Club.
“The community has been fantastic and giving,” she said.
Mrs Hatton is overwhelmed by the support.
“It honestly feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” Mrs Hatton said.
“I have been overwhelmed by the community support. I can’t wait to attend the event and meet all those who have been involved.”
