Bunbury business, Veen’s Design Group has taken home two awards at this year’s Building Designers Association of WA's (BDAWA) Design Awards night.
The industry awards were held at the Old Pickle Factory on Saturday, July 22 to congratulate WA’s best building designers.
The local group won the category of Best Commercial Buildings up to $2 million for their Coote commercial units in Treendale and Best Commercial Alterations and Additions up to $1 million for the Enable South West building extension.
Veen’s was engaged to design two tenancies at Treendale’s commercial precinct on Grand Entrance, which was just a vacant corner block between Bunnings and the Junction Shopping Centre.
With a budget of $1 million, they were asked to create something with an element of difference and strong street presence which is now fully tenanted by True Revolution Automotive and Whiteys Bait and Tackle
Over at the Enable South West project, Veen’s were approached to provide new additions and alterations for the building to accommodate the needs of their expanding business which included maximising office space, adding a board room and meeting areas, a new reception area, more storage, an extra canopy and additional staff services including quiet zones and staff rooms.
An important not-for-profit that provides support for individuals and their families living with disabilities or mental health issues, chief executive officer Rob Holmes said he was delighted with the job, the hidden storage facilities, functionality and that it all came within budget.
