Watch out Bunbury, a new Twenty20 cricket competition is coming your way.
With adjusted rules, midweek time slots and the emphasis on “runs for fun”, this format is catering for anybody over 16 years of age, male or female.
Whether you have played before, or just watched it on TV, you can make a team up or join one and have a great time doing so.
It is a jam-packed format with 40 overs being bowled in just two hours. Games will start at 5pm and be over by 7pm.
The competition will feature modified rules including limited run ups, no bouncers, no getting out on the first ball and retiring at 25 runs to make the game accessible to everyone regardless of ability.
All cricket gear is supplied as is match balls, a central umpire and scorer.
Teams of 11 players are required, but it is a good idea for teams to have a squad of 15 to pick from.
A maximum of three ‘regular’ weekend cricketers are only allowed per team to really cater for ‘non-cricketers’ and make the season more even.
The season will start in October/November and run until February/March.
In what is sure to be a first in world cricket, 12 runs are offered for any player to hit a sponsor’s sign on the full, with these flags positioned around the boundary and good banter will sure to be had with players aiming for these.
