Melo Velo cycling and coffee shop’s owners have begun adding the final touches to their Victoria Street store before opening day.
The 66 Victoria Street establishment will officially open its doors to the public at 6.30am on Monday, October 23.
Ricus Grimbeek and Magdaleen Arangles-Grimbeek saw the lot as a “blank canvas” to build their new premises and expand their current operations.
The pair have owned C4 City Cycles on Prinsep Street for the past nine months.
Mrs Arangles-Grimbeek revealed the duo worked to make everything inside the new store out of recycled, sustainable materials.
“Our aim is to have a community, so where people can feel comfortable and come in...this isn’t a shop where you will only find high-end things, it’s a shop where anyone and everyone is welcome and where we hope to provide really good service,” she said.
Melo Velo will also provide a workshop in partnership with community organisation Show Some Love.
