Beyonce's Instagram in recent times has become a go-to documentation for all of her sartorial style. In her first red carpet appearance since giving birth to twins Sir and Rumi in June, the 36-year-old proved she will always be fashion royalty in jewel tones.
The mother-of-three has been notably wearing affordable fashion to events lately, including a US$165 ($210) House of CB dress to Rihanna's Diamond Ball. But for her surprise appearance to support Jay Z at the Tidal x Brooklyn event to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, Beyonce ruled the carpet in a custom sculpted emerald gown designed by Walter Mendez, paired with a plum-coloured faux fur stole.
Featuring an asymmetrical neckline with strategically placed cut-outs and a thigh-high split, the Beyhive were buzzing about the look.
Styled by Zerina Akers, in true Bey fashion she also added statement accessories. Along with crystal encrusted Christian Louboutin heels, and goddess-like gold and emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings, there was plenty of attention on her limited-edition crystal clutch shaped like a roll of US $100 bills.
Designed by streetwear king Alexander Wang in collaboration with Judith Leiber, the sold-out bag aptly titled "Show me the Money" debuted on the Alexander Wang Fall 2017 runway. Before getting into formation to purchase the clutch, which retails at US$4,995 ($6364), know that there are only 20 in circulation. The bag features 10, 263 Swarovski crystals. Kim Kardashian was also spotted with it over the weekend.
Jay Z lined up artists including Cardi B and J-Lo and also performed a set of his own, including his duet, 03 Bonnie & Clyde at the event.Though the audience undoubtedly hoped that Beyonc?? would emerge from backstage, her husband was quick to squash rumours.
"Psych, y'all think Bey is coming out or something, but we ain't doing that tonight," he told the crowd.
Yep, Beyonce has once again proved she has never met a red carpet she couldn't slay.
