The Print Shop Bunbury has celebrated its 10 year anniversary by giving generously to two South West businesses.
Last month, Print Shop owners Jeff and Donna Austin put a call out to past and present customers to refer a friend or colleague to the Spencer Street store.
The existing and new customers received instant rewards and were then placed in a prize draw, with two businesses to share in $2000.
Prize draw winners – BES Electrical Solutions WA owner Michael Sheedy and contracts admin Sandra Lee as well as Burekup Lawn and Gardening Services operator/contractor Chris Kirk – met with Print Store representatives to collect their winnings on Monday, November 6.
Mr Austin said the competition was devised to attract new business whilst acknowledging existing customers’ assistance.
“I kept seeing banks, insurance companies etc. offer all of these incentives to attract new business but not really do much to say ‘thanks’ to existing customers,” he said.
“It was a way of acknowledging that we’ve turned 10, been through the Global Financial Crisis and tough times, we’ve grown, we’ve got markets in four different areas...and we only got there because our customers gave us that opportunity.”
The store owner said, given the current focus on small business in the region, the competition provided healthy interaction with a range of outlets.
The Print Store opened in Bunbury on October 2007.
Mr Austin said the company worked from the ground up to establish a significant client base over the past decade.
He noted the business strived to earn its customers’ trust over many years.
Mr Austin added people looking to start a business should begin with a formal business plan and by establishing their ground rules.
“Understand very early in the piece what you stand for and, equally, understand what you won’t stand for,” he said.
