A man charged with a string of offences following a drunken evening in Bunbury faced the local court on Thursday.
Bryan Thomas Foat, who now lives in Busselton, was charged with two counts of disorderly behaviour and one of obstructing police in relation to an incident that started in East Bunbury on September 18.
The court was told Foat was outside a property on King Road when police were called.
When officers arrived the offender became aggressive. He was warned to stop swearing before violently resisting arrest.
Police finally got Foat in their vehicle and took him to the Bunbury lock-up where he started smashing his head on a glass door in a cell.
Foat was moved to a padded cell where he smashed a security camera and cut his hand.
He then smeared blood over the walls of the cell.
“I was drunk,” Foat told the court.
“I was fairly intoxicated.”
Foat accused police officers of “manhandling” him, saying officers were “trying to twist my arms in ways they don’t twist”.
He was fined $2500 for the offences.
Further to this incident Foat was also charged with breaching bail after failing to attend an earlier court date.
He was fined $300 for the breach and ordered to forfeit $2000.
