The WA State Paralympic team will travel to Sydney today to take part in the national paralympic seven-a-side football championships.
Bunbury’s Brad Scott has been named in the side for the four-day tournament to be held at Valentine Sports Park in New South Wales.
Football West chief executive officer James Curtis said the tournament was a fantastic opportunity for WA players to showcase their talent to the rest of Australia and potentially be identified for future Pararoos training camps.
“We had seven people representing the state in Pararoos’ training camps earlier this year and I know we have as much talent in the WA squad heading over to Sydney today,” he said.
“We are committed to providing equal football opportunities for all abilities and it's great to have these players representing WA this week.
“These tournaments provide invaluable opportunities for everyone involved and I wish them the best of luck over the next few days.”
The WA side, coached by Dr Fadi Maayah, will take on teams from ACT, Victoria and NSW.
