Bunbury hockey players Tristan Clemons and Jake Harvie have been named in the Australian Kookaburras side for the men’s hockey world league finals in India.
Harvie was a late call-up to the 18 man team after Sydney brothers Ben and Tom Craig were both ruled out through injury.
Harvie debuted in the Australian side against New Zealand in Bendigo earlier this month and earned six caps during the international festival of hockey.
Kookaburras head coach Colin Batch said a trip to the world league final represents a great opportunity for Harvie.
“Jake’s selection builds on his recent performances where he impressed at the international festival of hockey and we feel he can handle this opportunity,” Batch said.
Clemons has also been in good form recently, protecting Australia’s goal well in his preferred goalkeeping role.
The Kookaburras will depart for the world league final on Saturday, with the side’s first game against India on December 1.
Australia are grouped against India, Germany and England in Pool B.
The tournament runs from December 1 to 10.
