In a few weeks, motorists across the state will start getting refunds from the government.
It’s because of the drop in green slip prices that kicked in on December 1, which have fallen by more than $100 for many motorists.
The government is refunding part of the amount people paid for their 2017 green slip – with the money set to roll in from January for business customers.
Private owners will get their cash from March next year.
“The government is returning $300 million to vehicle owners, with $66 million being returned to business customers, including $37 million to business owners of cars and light goods vehicles,” said Finance Minister Victor Dominello.
The refunds will be paid through Service NSW and will be higher the more recently people renewed their green slip.
