The residents of Bunbury are in for a big surprise when Optus drops a mysterious three metre by three metre, giftwrapped present for the community at the Pat Usher Foreshore.
The giant gift will be delivered by the telco this week to announce the launch of the Optus Movies Under the Stars, a free family night hosted by Optus at the Graham Bicknell Music Shell on Sunday, December 17.
Optus Movies Under the Stars is a free pop up outdoor cinema event designed by the telco to bring locals together and create excitement around upcoming Christmas holiday fun.
Local families are invited to enjoy two movies including Son of Big Foot and popular Blockbuster movie, Wonder, which features Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, beneath the stars and tuck into a selection of tasty treats, also supplied by Optus.
Afterall, what’s a good movie without popcorn?
Family fun will kick off from 4.30pm with pre-screen entertainment and giveaways. There’s no need to book, just pack your picnic blanket and come along.
The entertainment packed evening will build to a grand unveiling at the end of the screening, where the giant gift will have its yellow and teal trimming torn off to unveil the community present.
Optus WA state manager Jonathan Conway said the event brings together everything Optus represents – community, entertainment and a strong 4G network.
“We’re also celebrating the whole community coming together, which is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season,” Mr Conway said.
Optus customers will also have the chance to reserve one of fifty VIP Tickets and receive priority seating, a lazy bed to watch the movie, lots of tasty treats and an Optus giveaway bag. To register, click here.
