The community who call Dunstan Street home are gearing up for another festive season full of light, celebrating 20 years of the beloved Bunbury tradition.
Each year, residents place candles inside milk cartons and line them up along the winding verge of the famous street, inviting family and friends over for parties, while visitors from across the South West admire the glittering displays.
Dunstan Street resident Diana Dean said the occasion brought people together and showcased the spirit of Christmas.
“Basically it is like one big party, family and friends come over, we sit on the front verge and see people go by,” she said.
“People enjoy bringing their families and walking along, seeing all the lights.”
This year marks the Deans’ fifth Christmas celebrating the event as part of the neighbourhood.
The City of Bunbury has set up a traffic plan allowing visitors to venture through the street safely.
The event was first devised by Councillor and former Dunstan Street resident Sam Morris.
