Bunbury’s Men’s and Women’s softball sides took on Rockingham in their annual interclub tournament last weekend.
After both games, Bunbury softballer Scott “Robbo” Robinson shaved off his famous beard in support of his fundraising campaign, Facing the Dawn.
His campaign raises funds for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, in honour of his mother.
Robinson aims to raise $10,000 for the organisation.
Rockingham coaches Simon Hill and Shaun Nicholls praised the event and the newly-developed Glen Huon Softball Pavilion.
Bunbury and Districts Softball Association president Warren Jones thanked both clubs for putting on a show.
“We want to thank Rockingham for coming down,” he said.
“We want to make this an annual event...now that we’ve got this facility we will be able to do a home-and-away series.”
The series first started five years ago.
Last year, Bunbury played in Rockingham while the Glen Huon Softball Pavilion was being built.
Mr Jones said the series will feature two fixtures per year – one in Eaton, and the other in Rockingham.
