After a challenging start to their 2017-18 season World Series Sprintcars Championship campaign, the Krikke Motorsport team and their driver Jamie Veal sealed second place in the final point standings recently at the Perth Motorplex.
A podium finish with third in the 14th and final round wrapped up the team’s assault on the World Series Title, which saw them finish second in the final point standings behind defending champion James McFadden.
Veal and the Krikke Motorsport team might have endured a mixed run throughout their WSS Championship campaign but Veal said luck was not on their side.
“Although we’ve had race-winning pace throughout the World Series Championship, there were a few moments where luck simply wasn’t on our side,” he said.
“Our team showed plenty of fight at every round, and the way we finished the championship was a true reflection of all of the continued hard work and determination of the whole team.”
Veal and Krikke Motorsport team made their final appearance for the 2017-18 season on home soil at the Bunbury Speedway during the long weekend.
“The Krikke Boys Shootout event means a lot to the whole speedway community, and of course everyone in our team,” said Veal.
Veal won the final shootout on Sunday ahead of Luke Dillon.
