Ladies and gents hit the Bunbury Turf Club to celebrate Amelia Park Stakes Day on Wednesday, March 21.
Trainer Steve Wolfe was over the moon after jockey Shaun McGruddy led Red Ora ($11) first across the line in the Amelia Park Stakes event.
After settling in ninth place, the gelding moved up to seventh at the final turn before charging past the competition on the home straight.
Race favourite Oliver’s Travels came in second, three-quarters of a length behind Red Ora.
Earlier in the afternoon, rider Daniel Staeck and Abdication ($4) collected the $59,600 first prize in the Rangeview Stud Classic.
Abdication placed second at the 800 metre mark and the final turn before finding an opening.
The bay gelding crossed the line ahead of race favourite Fine Scent by one-and-a-half lengths.
The club also played host to the South West Regional Heat of the WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field spectacular.
Jo Bovell was crowned the winner and will compete in the Fashions on the Field Final at Ascot Racecourse on December 1.
Emilia Hyvarinen placed second while Leah Lendich came in third.
Bovell won the Best Accessory category in last year’s event.
