The West Australian downhill mountain bike team achieved impressive results in last month's MTB national championships.
After travelling to Bright, Victoria, the team faced riders from across the country over three days of competition.
Caelin Stuart clinched the Under 15 women’s event.
In the U15 Men’s competition, Gus Kyme finished fifth while Riley Wakeling came in sixth. The U17 men’s event saw Blair Stuart place sixth.
Jaxon Sawyer (9th), Declan O’Connor (13th), and Logan Wakeling (19th) represented WA in the Junior Men’s division.
Competitors participated in three-to-five minute time trials, with riders running from a point at the top of a hill to the bottom.
With help from WA State Junior Downhill Coach Dean Davies and Head Junior State Coach Mark Wardle, the team completed scheduled training sessions prior to competition.
Twelve WA riders travelled to Armidale, New South Wales to compete in the Cross Country national championships on February 24 and 25.
