Carey Park Panthers, Harvey Bulls, and Bunbury Bulldogs collected four points each in round one of this year’s South West Football League women’s competition.
On Saturday afternoon, the South Bunbury Tigers took to the field against Carey Park.
After leading by four points at quarter time, the Panthers kicked a second goal before the main break.
The home side controlled the contest and scored a 4.1.25 to 2.8.20 win.
At Bovell Park, the Busselton Magpies only managed three points in the first half against the Harvey Bulls.
The home side slotted 10 shots through the point posts but failed to kick a goal.
Despite a scoreless fourth quarter from Harvey, the Bulls took home a 2.2.14 to 0.10.10 victory.
One of the league’s two new teams, Eaton Boomers, had the unfortunate task of facing off against the reigning premiers, Bunbury, in round one.
Acclimatising to Glen Huon Reserve, the Bulldogs were too strong for the inexperienced Eaton side.
Bunbury established its dominance with a 14.9.93 to 0.0.0 win.
After having the first week off, Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault will face South Bunbury in round two.
The Collie Eagles will play its first ever SWFL regular season match against Eaton next weekend.
