Golden West Dolphins are a competitive swimming club and train at Leschenault Leisure Centre in Australind. Run completely by volunteers, and being small in size, they still manage to achieve some pretty impressive results.
The team recently attended the 2018 Country Pennants meet, the largest swim meet on the WA calendar, in Mandurah.
With 32 country clubs attending, and over 900 swimmers, competition is tough.
The team’s 35 swimmers competed in A division (divisions run from A to E) and finished 5th overall and 3rd in Relays.
In 2017, our club achieved 17 medals - 16 Individual and one Relay. In 2018, our club achieved 41 medals - 30 Individual and 11 Relays.
The club promotes a supportive environment, with an emphasis on swimming being ‘fun’ enabling swimmers from beginners to advanced to reach their full potential.
