A national roadshow will soon be rolling into Bunbury to help organisations, businesses and charities to improve their current child safety systems, in light of the recent Royal Commission’s recommendations.
The Childsafe National Roadshow will visit Bunbury on May 3 at the South West Sports Centre from 7pm.
The event will include a presentation from the ChildSafe team, information from Lewis Holdway Lawyers, and Insurance firm, EA Insurance Services, to assist organisations with a holistic approach to child safety.
An open Q&A session with the panel will also take place.
ChildSafe business development leader Neil Milton said he was excited to see what impact this year would have for organisations looking to put the appropriate systems in place to protect children from harm.
“Aussie children are this nation’s future, and we will be travelling around the country to spread the message that more needs to be done to protect our nation’s children,” he said.
“The recently issued recommendations from the Royal Commission have highlighted several key gaps in how we approach child safety, and every organisation needs to sit up and take notice to ensure we learn from mistakes of others.”
The recommendations made by the ‘Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse’ highlighted a need for organisatiosn with exposure to young people to ensure they are taking an active response to reduce potential risks of harm to children.
The ChildSafe team are on a national tour of Australia throughout 2018 visiting each state and territory.
