The Shire of Dardanup will become an art showcase this weekend when the Dardanup Art Spectacular and Trail begin.
The annual exhibition of work by local and outside artists will be held on May 5 at the Dardanup Town Hall.
More than $6000 in prizes are available and the awards are open to all Australian residents.
Top awards include the Shire of Dardanup Art Prize and the Ferguson Valley Art Prize, both valued at $1000.
Awards are also up for grabs for young and emerging artists who live in the Dardanup region.
Over the following nine days, local galleries and venues in the Ferguson Valley will open their doors, showcasing art and craft from artists in the region.
The Art Trail will include artists in residence, music performances, demonstrations, and the opportunity to purchase art.
Tickets to the opening night are $20 single, $35 double or $50 a family and are available at the door.
