Round five of the 2018 South West Netball Football League saw Carey Park retain top spot with victory over Eaton.
Sporting seven Souwest Jets players, the Panthers showcased their dominance during the first four rounds.
The first half belonged to Carey Park. The Panthers led from outset before securing a 26 to 21 lead at half time.
The Panthers grew stronger and went on to score a 52 to 39 win.
In one of the two matches at the South West Sports Centre, the Bunbury Bulldogs rallied to overcome Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault, 56 to 44.
Bunbury now sits second on the ladder, while the Lions reside in fourth place with two wins and two losses.
Meanwhile, the South Bunbury Tigers fought to claim a 58 to 45 victory over the Augusta-Margaret River Hawks.
South Bunbury sits just outside the top four. The Hawks, on the other hand, are yet to record a win this season.
Eaton conquered an under-manned HBL squad in round four.
Missing five players due to national duties, HBL’s team featured several reserves who had played in the previous game.
Both Goal Shooters hardly missed a shot, with the game coming to down to a few attempts by the Boomers close to full time.
Both teams played out a ferocious, tug-of-war clash.
The Boomers did enough to claim a 48 to 43 victory.
Travelling to Margaret River, Busselton was tireless in its 39 to 31 win over the Hawks.
South Bunbury and Bunbury locked horns in the SWNFL’s first derby clash for 2018.
An impressive Bulldogs lineup decimated the Tigers, 61 to 28, at the South West Sports Centre.
The teams will have some well-deserved time off next weekend, before returning to the court on May 19 for round six.
Fans can head to the Margaret River Recreation Centre to catch the Hawks and Bulldogs in action on the 19th.
Carey Park will take on Busselton at the South West Sports Centre, while HBL and South Bunbury will collide in Leschenault.
On May 20, HBL will play its second game of the round against the Boomers.
